Procedural Death Labyrinth

An Emerging Video Game Genre

Procedural Death Labyrinth (PDL) is a new term used to describe games like Spelunky, The Binding of Isaac, FTL, Rogue Legacy, etc.

These games are sometimes called "Roguelike-LIKE's" or "Rogue-LITE's", because they borrow several key elements from the Roguelike genre of games (Nethack, Adom, Angband, ROGUE, etc), but we prefer the term "Procedural Death Labyrinth."
